On behalf of the Five-Star West Georgia Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, I bid you a warm welcome!

We are delighted and proud to be a part of this wonderful West Georgia community as the first organization of its kind on the west side of metro Atlanta.  This is home for us, and it is here where we do the very important work of providing top-notch programming for the children of our members, in an effort to steer the next generation of African American leaders.  With the national mission of Jack and Jill of America as our guide, we seek on the local level to provide smart, impactful, intentional programming that strengthens and elevates our children through leadership development, volunteerism, philanthropy, and civic and social engagement.

The West Georgia Chapter has been busy, and our children have done some exciting things.  They have interacted with a range of professionals ranging from dentists to architects, learning aspects of many disciplines through hands-on activities.  They have had golf experiences led by local African American golf organizations, been introduced to horseback riding, and even met a black cowboy.  Our children have traveled to Alabama to visit the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and to tour the historic16th Street Baptist Church.  Our children have also attended Children's Clusters, traveled to Teen Conference, and taken regional trips around the country.

From a fireside chat with law enforcement to an etiquette class at a fine restaurant; from learning about the African drum led by a Ghana native to exploring the backend of a neighborhood bank, our children are gaining exposure to people, places, and things that enrich and elevate their lives one experience at a time. And, yes—they have plenty of opportunities to serve those in need too.

Since our establishment in 2018, West Georgia has made tremendous strides to continue the work of Jack and Jill, the premier organization for black families in America. As a charter mother, it makes me smile to see how far we have come and how beautifully we have grown.  The Jack and Jill family is a special culture, and West Georgia is one of a kind.  It is my honor to serve with such a dynamic group of women and to be a part of a sisterhood dedicated to bettering the lives of all children.

In West Georgia Excellence,

With Village Love,

President LaConia Jenkins Dean
